3.1 Where We Store Data

Your data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure (Realtime Database and Authentication services), which employs industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest.

3.2 Security Measures

• All data transmission is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
• Firebase Security Rules restrict database access to authorized users only
• Firebase App Check with reCAPTCHA v3 protects against bot abuse
• Sensitive configuration data is stored in environment variables, not in client-side code
• We do not store passwords directly — authentication is handled by Firebase Auth

3.3 Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymized data may be retained for analytical purposes.

7. Cookies & Local Storage

7.1 What We Use

• Firebase Auth Tokens: Stored in browser local storage and IndexedDB to maintain your login session
• Google Analytics Cookies: Used to track anonymized usage data (e.g., _ga, _gid)
• Theme Preferences: Stored locally to remember your UI theme choice
• PWA Cache: Service Worker caches are used for offline functionality

7.2 Managing Cookies

You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect authentication functionality. To opt out of Google Analytics tracking, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

8. Children's Privacy

SkillZo is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. International Users

SkillZo is hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. If you access the Service from outside India, your data may be transferred to and processed in data centers operated by Google. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on the platform. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
